GITR = GLUCOCORTICOID-INDUCED TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR RECEPTOR

Incyte is developing GITR agonist antibodies.

GITR is a transmembrane receptor protein expressed on effector T cells that is up-regulated during T-cell activation.

Costimulation of GITR enhances T-cell survival, increases proliferation and cytokine production, and reduces regulatory T-cell activity. As enhanced effector T-cell activity is an important component of antitumor immunity, GITR costimulation is a promising mechanism for cancer treatment.
