LSD1 = LYSINE-SPECIFIC DEMETHYLASE-1

undefined image

Incyte is developing inhibitors of LSD1.

LSD1 is an epigenetic regulator that affects gene transcription by catalyzing lysine demethylation on histone H3 and is critical for numerous cellular processes including proliferation and differentiation.

LSD1 has been implicated in liquid tumors and some solid tumors, where its overexpression likely contributes to carcinogenesis.

Downregulation or pharmacological inhibition of LSD1 expression may reduce tumor cell proliferation, restore cellular differentiation, and reduce metastatic progression in several malignancies.
